Minimum
Requirements for Viewing Photo Spheres
Your computer must meet certain requirements.
Older computers may load image files more slowly.
Computer
Requirements
Windows: 486 or higher processor with
Microsoft Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, or NT
4.0 Workstation with Service Pack 4, 5, or
6 installed; 16 MB RAM and 8 MB of free hard
disk space.
Macintosh: Macintosh PowerPC 603/200
MHz processor running Mac OS 8.1 to 9.x with
32 MB RAM and 8 MB of free hard disk space.
The
Apple MRJ 2.1 and Mac OS 8.51 or higher is
strongly recommended (see
http://www.apple.com/java).
Browser
Requirements
Compatible
Browsers
In addition to meeting the above requirements,
users must have a compatible browser installed
on their computer.
Minimum required browser for the Windows
operating system is Internet Explorer version
4.01 SP2 to 5.x or Netscape version 4.04 to
6.0. Macintosh computers running OS 8.x to
9.x are supported with Internet Explorer 4.01
SP2 to 5.0 and Apple Macintosh Runtime for
Java (MRJ) version 2.0 or later. Mac OS X
is not supported.
Notes
for Netscape 6.0
The latest version of Netscape Communicator
has higher system requirements to run the
iPIX Java Viewer. These requirements are listed
below.
· Pentium 133 MHz, Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000,
or NT 4.0, 64 MB of RAM.
· PowerPC, 200 MHz PowerPC 604 or G3, Mac
OS 8.5, Mac OS 8.6, or Mac OS 9, 64 MB of
RAM, with virtual memory turned on (or 48
MB of dynamic RAM).
General
notes
1.
Macintosh computers should use the Apple MRJ
instead of the Microsoft Virtual Machine under
Internet Explorer. Macintosh users should
set allocated memory (Preferred Size) to 15
MB. For more information, check on the Web
at http://www.apple.com/java.
Netscape and Apple are working on a MRJ for
Netscape.
2. Certain installations of Netscape 4.03,
and 4.04 are not compliant with JDK 1.02.
There is a patch available from Netscape but
it has had mixed results. It is suggested
users update to the latest version of Netscape.
